WHO We Are
As an organization, we are committed to grappling with the role we play in systemic oppression through wealth accumulation.
In 2019, the Farbmans transitioned their generational family foundation into the Kolibri Foundation. That transition led us into 2020, when we entered a year-long dreaming and structuring process with movement leaders Thenjiwe McHarris, Cara Page and Lorraine Ramirez, who make up our current six-person (and growing) Board.
We come to this work as a multi-racial, multi-class team with lived experiences as survivors of state and interpersonal violence and as folks with disabilities, amongst our other identities.
Under our unified name, Kolibri Foundation commits to spending down our assets, creating grant making strategies guided by our movement partners, and working collaboratively on community-identified solutions to create a better, more just future for all.
